Where We Are Going - Corporate Vision

As the PLM and SRM markets continue to mature and expand their impact on Supply Chain operations, DSA will expand its capabilities and Service Offerings. Some of the things to watch for from us are as follows:

In 2003, DSA purchased Kalthoff International, a premier PLM conference provider. We are currently reengineering this business to create a new and more powerful PLM conference to drive the state of art and practice across the industry.

We have already developed a sophisticated library of “Best Process Practices” for Product Lifecycle processes. We will continue to expand and verticalize this library by industry type to increase the quality and value-add of the consulting work we can provide to the market.

We have developed a stage gate Sourcing Lifecycle process definition that is highly tailor-able to any industry and commodity base. This Lifecycle process definition is inclusive of Stage Gates, Tools, Deliverables and Decisions. It begins with establishing Sourcing Strategy and Commodity Performance Improvement Initiatives and continues through long-term Supplier Relationship Management. It can be automated easily through the application of a number of SRM applications to enable increased performance in Sourcing Management and an ongoing rationalization of Parts and suppliers to drive maximum leverage of buying power.

One of the most promising technologies still on the early innovators side of the curve is Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE). DSA is currently engaged in implementation of this new technology to dramatically (order of magnitude) increase design efficiency and yield while dramatically reducing the number of CAD Designers and CAD stations an organization will require.

Many organizations are buried in corrective action work and suffer a plethora of project related problems when developing new products. Our experience in converting our execution method to a model-based and Fully Threaded Method makes us uniquely aware of the opportunities our clients have to dramatically reduce corrective action work and the associated cost and increased time to market that results. DSA will be working with clients to establish a Fully Threaded Lifecycle Method (at the work product level) across their Product Development Lifecycle Practice.

We very much appreciate this opportunity to tell you where we are going. We look forward to talking with you further. So please, do contact us to see how DSA can assist you to Increase the Utilization of your PLM Assets.

Yours in great appreciation,

Kenn Hartman
President, DSA
